Coast Tropical Distribution Center

Tropical is a subsidiary of Coast Citrus Distributors, a major wholesaler of fruits and vegetables in the United States and Mexico. This project began with converting 23,500-sf of existing dry warehouse area to a cooler area. The scope of work for this phase included adding insulated metal panels, re-roofing the existing roof to include insulation, removing skylights, infilling openings, adding new refrigeration equipment and associated electrical work, and adding structural support of the new units.

In addition, after the conversion took place, the project also included modifications to the 56,000-square-foot existing cooler area consisting of adding new cooler rooms, reconfiguring lighting layouts, and adding refrigeration equipment along with associated structural and electrical work. Additional work included the partial conversion of the 6,800-square-foot dry dock area to a cold dock area along with modifying the sprinklers at the dry warehouse area.
