Big-D Signature has completed our highest-elevation project yet—a ski patrol hut at the summit of Alta Ski Resort. The Sugarloaf Patrol Building, perched at an impressive 10,550 feet, is a 600-sf, two-story structure that provides Alta’s ski patrol team with a much-needed vantage point over the Sugar Bowl area.

This place, which was previously difficult to monitor, is now clearly visible to the patrol, enhancing their ability to ensure everyone’s safety on the slopes. For our team this project wasn’t just another job: it was a chance to create something impactful for an iconic ski destination.
From navigating steep and rugged terrain to managing an exceptionally tight construction timeline, the project’s unique demands required the team to work creatively and effectively to bring it to life.
After two and a half intense months, we wrapped up this special project, achieving a major milestone not only as our highest project in elevation but as a powerful testament to the resilience and dedication of our team and Altas.

Alta Sugarloaf Patrol Building

Built for both the business and leisure traveler, the Hampton Inn &amp; Suites in Gilbert, AZ stands 5-stories and has 101 guest rooms. Property accommodations include ADA accessibility amenities, a fitness center and pool, outdoor gas fireplace, water feature in the lobby, business center and a large conference room that can partition into smaller breakout rooms when needed. The larger private suites have been designed with nearly 600-sf of space, featuring upgraded millwork, sophisticated décor, options for one or two-bed rooms and was built using eco-friendly construction methods based around ICF and concrete materials. The environmental upgrades will save the owner over $20,000 per year. Pathangay Architects also created space for photovoltaic panels to be installed on the roof in the future if warranted.

The Hampton Inn Phoenix / East Mesa

Located on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation in Pacatello, Idaho, this 85,463-sf, Shoshone-Bannock Casino Expansion connects the casino to the existing Shoshone Bannock Hotel and Event Center. The project scope includes site work, a porte-cochere, casino floor, back of house, a buffet food service, renovation of an existing deli and a pre-function corridor at the north side of the Event Center and Hotel storage space. The indoor corridor was a necessity to alleviate the need for guests to travel outside during the sometimes-harsh chilling Idaho winters. The new casino floor features over 900 gaming machines, a High Limit area with 44 gaming machines and a new 258-seat bingo hall as well as a lounge area. High-end finishes are highlighted by a structural design that showcases the tribe’s heritage throughout the facility. Substantial completion was achieved in 9 months.

The Shoshone Bannock Casino Expansion

SpringHill Suites at Jackson Hole is a new, four-story, 125-room upscale hotel in downtown Jackson, WY just blocks from town square and Snow King Mountain Resort. In addition to the hotel guest rooms, the top floor features nine owner-occupied condominiums. The building is primarily a wood structure atop a post tension slab with underground parking below the hotel. The exterior is finished with wood siding and bonderized metal with the elevator and stair towers being a board formed concrete to give it a resort town feel. The hotel features a unique steel-framed canopy that wraps the first and third levels and is the first building in Jackson over three stories in height &#8211; even more unique as the fourth level condos are privately owned. Amenities include a 3,000-sf restaurant, heated outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, 24-hour fitness center, and 1,500-sf of flexible meeting space. Challenges included construction during extreme winter conditions and a site surrounded by private homeowners. Crews worked with residents and the City to minimize disruptions to the community. Crews had to coordinate and effectively communicate road closures to accommodate cranes, concrete trucks and other construction equipment needed for the project.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Jackson Hole

Marriott’s four-star City Center Hotel, located in the heart of Salt Lake City’s business and cultural district features 359 rooms, 17 suites, two dedicated, private concierge floors, 15,000 square feet of conference space, and three levels of underground parking.
The twelve-story luxury hotel’s amenities include an indoor swimming pool, fitness club, gift shop, and full-service restaurant. Marriott’s priority is the business traveler, so 202 guest rooms are specifically designed to meet this priority. All meeting rooms are equipped with the latest interactive conference service technology, featuring conference call phone lines and high-speed internet access.

Alf’s Restaurant is an on-hill full-service restaurant located at the base of the Supreme and Sugarloaf ski lifts at Alta Ski Area. The Restaurant had been in operation for 25 years prior to this much-needed renovation. The expansion create space for a new gift/ski shop, expanded dining room, and mechanical, electrical and storage room facilities to support the expansion. Construction included the relocation of existing utilities, new footings and foundation walls, structural steel, expansive storefront/curtainwall systems, exterior rock, standing seam metal siding, and MEP and fire suppression systems upgrades. Interior finishes were updated throughout the restaurant, giving the restaurant a modern and refined look. The scope of the expansion also included a restroom/shower area and living quarter expansion for seasonal restaurant employees. The work required a complex split schedule that spanned two seasons due to location, weather, and extent and complexity of construction.

Alf’s Restaurant Expansion

Inside, you’ll find striking North Carolinian reclaimed barn wood walls and accents. Several nostalgic collectibles are featured throughout the Victory Ranch Barn, making visitors feel right at home in the communal space. Several floor-to-ceiling windows provide an abundance of natural light and panoramic views of the golf course and neighboring mountains for members and their guests. In addition to the Barn, Big-D Signature has constructed more than 45 individual cabins on the property.

The Victory Ranch Development features exquisite cabin homes with floor plans ranging from 2,800 square feet to 3,900 square feet. Residents of Victory Ranch have exclusive access to the golf course and the Barn. The Barn features an assortment of luxurious amenities for residents including the following:

The interior of Victory Ranch Barn, known as Phase 1, was completed in 2017. In 2018, Big-D Signature returned to construct a 75-foot swimming pool with a hot tub and winding water slide; two tennis courts; and a bocci ball court.

The interior features reclaimed barn wood from North Carolina and a mixture of nostalgic collectibles to make visitors feel right at home.

YOTELPAD

Also known as Storied Development, the Georgia-based development company made its name in Park City by owning and developing the Talisker Club, an exclusive one-of-a-kind private club with unique amenities and outdoor activities. Storied Deer Valley, LLC is a seasoned real estate developer, with over 30-years of success in developing, marketing, and operating private club communities.

The 5,422 square foot Coal &amp; Lumber building was transformed as the newest Talisker Club gathering place, all while keeping the iconic building preserved as a part of Park City history. Talisker Club’s newest addition delivers a fresh, downtown dining experience within walking distance of Main Street and can be enjoyed by both members and non-members.

The reimagined building concept includes a fine dining restaurant, Courchevel Bistro, that features French-European-style cuisine. Visitors can also enjoy a coffee shop and wine bar on the upper level. The lower level features a members-only Après Ski Lounge which features a bar, lounge, ski storage, and a private outdoor patio which was remodeled to include an outdoor trellis with gas overhead radiant heaters for year-round usage.

The Townhomes at King’s Crown are seven connected but individual high-end dwellings on the north side of Rothwell Road. Each four-story unit exceeds 4,000-sf, features two-car garages, game rooms, roof decks, multiple fireplaces, and high-end finishes throughout. Residents will have easy access to world-class skiing, biking, hiking, and everything else Park City has to offer.

The Yellowstone Club Golf Clubhouse is a three-story, 24,000 square-foot, mixed-use clubhouse for members and their guests.
